Goer:
An incident with persons reported.
GPM:
Gallons Per Minute or how many gallons are being pumped out of a piece of equipment every minute
GPM method ("gallons per minute"):
Calculation of how much water, in GPM, will be necessary to extinguish a given volume of fire, under the circumstances (e.g., fuel class, containment, exposures, etc.).
Grand Jury:
A panel of registered voters which considers charges a prosecutor has filed against an accused, and/or investigates criminal activity on its own direction. The use of the grand jury varies throughout the country. In some states, it is mandatory for all felony charges. In others, there is no grand jury system at all. Illinois has a grand jury system, but its use in a particular case is a matter of prosecutorial discretion.
Grease fire:
A fire involving any manner of cooking oil or other flammable cooking or lubricating materials. Also known as a Class B, F or K fire.
